Red-tailed black cockatoos

flitting amongst persistent tree-tops

their timeless litany soaring

a treasury of feathers tumbling in their wake

drifting along the dry river-bed

every specimen catches my eye

unique, perfect, dazzling

joy flies out the window to make room for so much love.

  5. I need to do try this kind of poetry again. Whenever I’ve tried it before, I just turn it into something romantic lol.

Thank you Scott, I am glad you enjoyed it. Don’t worry if you always write romantically, at the opposite end of the scale, I never write about romance, so we are at different ends of the same challenge I presume.

I love the writing…and is uplifting! I can imagine just by reading and the pictures to go along(by the way beautiful pictures) I can imagine myself enveloped in the beauty that is mother nature.
