Being a human is OK

I’m dreaming through the storms gone past
I’m tossed within the ebb and flow
I feel I’m coming home at last
Asleep, awake, I come and go

It’s all mixed up a tangled mess
It’s dark, it’s light, it’s sun and snow
I’m wrong, I’m right, I must confess
That I don’t know which way to go

But all is right, deep in the night
I fall down on my knees and say
“Although I’m lost and have no sight
Though nothing’s clear, I feel okay.”

Each day goes by then starts anew
Today is not like yesterday
Come celebrate this earthly brew
And sing this song, “We’re all okay.”

Peace be with you, Carl 🙂 It’s such a lovely day in Melbourne today! I was thinking of you last night when I discovered Ken W Simpson, I don’t know whether you have seen his poetry yet, I thought you might enjoy as we seem to like a lot of the same things…

To think of someone is to show caring..
To be thought of, is to be shown a Blessing.

I suspect you know exactly how it feels when someone “gets” exactly what you’ve written. Thank you so much. Made my day 🙂

  3. Wow, I love this and I lived inside of it while reading. While being human and living the routine is fine, I hope you can get some adventure soon or something 🙂

  4. Beautiful, simply beautiful!
…and you are right, “Today is not like yesterday,” and we hope to make today better than yesterday by learning from our experiences and not dwelling on what we’ve done wrong or not to our satisfaction, but just living the best we know how.

Yes, yes, yes. The usefulness of yesterday is that it contains facts and experience that can inform our actions “today”, but it is done and over and being a human is an honour not a curse!
